BONDING INFORMATION:

There are four ways to bond someone out of jail. You will need to come to the Towns County Jail located at 4070 GA HWY 339, Young Harris, Georgia 30582 to complete the process of bonding an inmate. The bonding window is on the north side of the jail.

FOUR WAYS TO BOND SOMEONE OUT OF JAIL:

Approved Bonding Company:  You can view a list of approved bonding companies here.  Please do not ask jail staff for a reference, we are restricted by law and cannot refer bonding companies.  Please be aware, bonding companies are allowed by law to charge up to 15% of the bond amount for their fee.

Bond Payment Options:  The Towns County Jail accepts: Money Orders (only for county bond fee and bonds).  Cash, business checks and personal checks are not accepted.

Property Bonds:  For real property of Towns County, bring the property bill and the most recent paid property tax bill to the Towns County Jail.  Persons listed on the property deed must be present with state issued ID and taxes must be paid in full and up to date to be used for the bonding process.  Only real property will be used and the appraised tax value is all that will be considered chattel, such as a mobile home which will be deducted from the overall assessment.  The value of encumbered Equity must be double the price of the bond to be accepted.

Residents living outside of Towns County:  If you reside outside of Towns County, you may use your real property but you will need to contact your local Sheriff's Office to initiate the bonding process. Your local Sheriff's Office will contact the Towns County Sheriff's Office to receive our bonding requirements, process the bond and then give you a sealed envelope.  The envelope you receive from your local Sheriff's Office must be sealed for us to accept the bond.
