This is a free 10-week course offered to all Towns County residents, employees and business owners age 21 and over.  During the course presenters from the Towns County Sheriff's Office and guest speakers from other partnership agencies will provide a better understanding of operations through hands-on training and law enforcement knowledge.  Our goal is to provide a safer community with citizens and business owners of Towns County through communication and education.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to modernize the Towns County Sheriff's Office and provide quality enforcement services using proactive enforcement services, community partnership and problem solving, which will create a safe, secure and desirable living and working environment for our citizens and visitors.

The Sheriff's Citizen's Academy is offered by the Towns County Sheriff's Office with presenters being Towns County Sheriff's Office employees.  During the course guest speakers from other partnership agencies also provide hands-on training and law enforcement knowledge.

To apply for the Towns County Sheriff's Citizens Academy, click on the Citizens Academy Application PDF Icon, print, complete then hand deliver, mail or fax to the Towns County Sheriff's Office located at:  4070 St. Hwy 339, Young Harris, GA  30582.  Applications may also be picked up at the Sheriff's Office Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
